Koert - On Sunday I find out that someone has knocked over my motorbike in the parking lot. I put it in upright position again without much noticing of any demage. On Monday morning I try to ride away to work and I find out that left handlebar is blocked, so I have it towed away to the workshop. It's an easy fix and an hour later I am finaly on my way to work. On the West Coast Highway suddenly my whole engine suddenly stalls. If you have not experienced that before, it is like an emergency brake withour breaking. In 4 seconds you go from 80km/h to stand still, trying to balance and control. That highway normally is very busy with large trucks. If one would have been just behind me when it happend I wouldn't be writing this now. I guess I was saved by the jammed handlebar, that made me take this route outside the morning rush.
It teached me a few things: 1. Check the oil level of your motor bike for every ride (yes that is what caused the stall - oil leaked out while the bike was on it's side) 2. Don't trust the mechanic that solved the obvious problem to check your whole bike for other potential mishaps, even if they claimed they did 3) Life is great, miracoulous, wonderful and a bliss!
